Chaileybrook Hampshire Downs were established in 2008 to compliment the Southdown flock.
The flock was founded on some of the breed’s best bloodlines, including females purchased from Charles and Sally Horrell’s Pode Hole flock, Peterborough, and Jennifer Atkinson and David Smith’s Kelsey flock, Lincoln.
Numbering just under 20 ewes at present, the flock has increased in size by retaining the best females born each year and by purchasing select females combining the best genetics in the breed.
The flocks primary aim is to breed rams suited to both pedigree and commercial use and in time to sell surplus females to other pedigree flocks.
